About

Salom Uzbekistan is a small, independent project. We build it because we wanted it to exist — a phrasebook and concierge that treats Uzbekistan as a place to be a guest, not a place to be sold.

What we believe

Hospitality is the most important word in this country. Most travel apps optimize for logistics; we optimize for the right phrase, said at the right moment, to the right person. Plov tastes different when you ordered it in Uzbek.

How it's made

Every phrase, lesson, and cultural note is written by people who have actually used it. Pronunciation guides are written for English speakers, not linguists. When we are not sure, we ask someone who grew up in Tashkent, Samarkand, or Bukhara. Then we ask another person.
