Your data, on your phone.

01The short version

• We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the App.
• Your profile, bookmarks, and learning progress are stored on your device, in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. We can't see them.
• We use Mixpanel for lightweight, privacy-first product analytics: anonymous usage events (like which screens and features are used) tied to a random identifier, never to your name. We do not use advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or any cross-app tracking.
• The App's content (phrases, lessons, audio) is delivered over Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may log standard request metadata like IP address.
• If you subscribe to premium, RevenueCat processes the purchase on our behalf and receives a device identifier and your purchase history.

03Information we collect

Information you give us

During onboarding the App asks for:

• A display name or nickname (used to greet you on the home screen).
• Your preferred interface language.
• Your trip purpose (e.g. tourism, business, family), used to surface relevant phrases.
• Topics you're interested in (used to order content).

All of this is optional and stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore (via Expo SecureStore). It never leaves your device. You can edit or clear it at any time from the Profile tab, or by uninstalling the App.

Information the App generates on your device

While you use the App we store, locally:

• Saved phrases, lessons, and culture topics you bookmark.
• Lesson progress: which items you've studied, quiz results, and a list of dates you opened the App for streak tracking. We do not store time-of-day or location.
• Premium status cache: a small flag that mirrors whether your RevenueCat subscription is currently active, so the App can work briefly offline.

Information we do not collect

• No email, phone number, or password.
• No precise or approximate location.
• No microphone, camera, contacts, calendar, or photo-library access. The App plays pronunciation audio but does not record audio.
• No advertising identifiers, ad networks, or social-media pixels (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Sentry, or Meta SDK). The only analytics we use is Mixpanel, described below.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking. The analytics identifier is random and specific to this App; we never link your App usage to your identity or to your activity on other apps or websites.

04Third parties that may receive data

Mixpanel (product analytics)

We use Mixpanel to understand how the App is used, so we can improve it. Mixpanel receives anonymous, aggregated usage events — for example, which screens you open, which features you use (like playing pronunciation audio or completing a lesson), and purchase events (start, success, failure). Each event is attached to a random, App-specific identifier (the anonymous device ID also used by RevenueCat), together with your app version and platform (iOS or Android).

Mixpanel does not receive your name, display name, interests, learning progress, email, phone number, or location. We do not use Mixpanel to advertise to you, and we do not link your App usage to your identity or to your activity on other apps or websites. Cloudflare (content delivery)

Phrases, lessons, culture notes, and pronunciation audio are served from content.salomuzbekistan.com, hosted on Cloudflare R2 and delivered through Cloudflare's network. When the App fetches content, Cloudflare may automatically log request metadata (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not link these logs to your in-App profile.

RevenueCat (subscriptions)

If you start a premium subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and recorded by RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier, your active entitlement (salom_premium), and purchase events (start, renewal, cancellation, refund). RevenueCat does not receive your name, interests, or learning progress.

Apple and Google (app stores)

The App is distributed by Apple and Google. Their stores collect download, crash, and transaction data per their own policies. We see aggregate, anonymized reports in App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

This website

salomuzbekistan.com is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookie-free) alongside Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and processes your IP address and on-page events to produce anonymized, aggregated reports; Google anonymizes IP addresses and we do not store them or link site visits to any in-App profile. We also use Mixpanel for product analytics, which sets first-party cookies / browser local storage and records page views and on-page interactions (such as clicks). Mixpanel also captures session replays (recordings of page interactions on this site, with text inputs masked by default) to help us understand and improve the experience. We do not link any of this to an in-App profile. We also use Google Search Console, which reports aggregate search performance and does not set cookies on your visit. We do not set advertising cookies or run ad/social tracking pixels on this site.

05Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us and we will delete it.

06How long we keep data

On-device data (profile, bookmarks, progress) is kept until you clear it from the App or uninstall the App. RevenueCat retains subscription records for as long as required by Apple, Google, and applicable tax law.

07Your rights

Because almost all data lives on your device, you can exercise the strongest possible right (deletion) by uninstalling the App. You can also:

• Edit or remove your profile fields from the Profile tab.
• Unsubscribe from a premium plan via the App Store or Play Store at any time.
• Request that we delete any record RevenueCat holds about your subscription by emailing us. Note that legal and tax obligations may require us to retain transaction records.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA (access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority). To exercise any of these, contact hello@salomuzbekistan.com and we will respond within 30 days.

08International transfers

Cloudflare and RevenueCat operate globally and may process data in the United States and other countries. The data they receive from us is minimal (request metadata, anonymous device IDs, purchase events) and they each maintain their own safeguards for cross-border transfers.

09Security

We rely on platform-level security: data on your device is stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Network requests use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but the attack surface here is small by design; most data simply never leaves your phone.

10Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the App's release notes.
