Local tips
Tashkent Metro
The metro is fast, cheap, and beautifully decorated. Each station is a unique work of art. Photography is now allowed.
Marshrutkas
Mini-buses (marshrutkas) are the cheapest way to get around. Tell the driver your stop and pay when you exit.
Use 2GIS
2GIS is the best offline map app for Uzbekistan. It works without internet and has detailed building-level navigation.
If you look lost, locals will often approach to help, even with a language barrier. Uzbek people are famously hospitable and may even walk you to your destination personally.
